Influenza is one of the diseases which affects all of us. Whether we like it or not, we are all exposed to Influenza, mostly when the cold season is approaching. Should a member of the family get it, the rest will surely follow. The bad part is that Influenza, mostly known as the flu, is highly contagious, and infectious as well. If not treated properly, Influenza can lead to severe consequences in the future. It is always a great idea to take as many prevention measures as possible, but usually they cannot keep up, especially if the immunity system is not very strong.

The best prevention and protection measure against Influenza is definitely getting vaccinated. However, the existent vaccines are not strong enough to handle Influenza, in most cases. This is why researchers are currently working on a new vaccine design against Influenza. The vaccine design topic has been longly debated, considering that many people are against it. However, vaccine design is the only way to find new cures and more effective treatments for diseases like Influenza. Moreover, a vaccine design against Influenza is highly required, because rumor has it that in the near future, the risk of an Influenza epidemic is higher and higher. We can only hope, thus, that the recent developments on the vaccine design against Influenza will turn out to be positive.

It is said that the new and improved vaccine against Influenza is actually a vaccine design of hemagglutinin glycoprotein. Moreover, it is also said that if this vaccine design is approved, we will only have to get it once. Unlike the current available vaccines, this new and improved vaccine design will be effective for a long period of time, so we will not have to get it every year. Getting this vaccine design once will be enough to keep us protected. This innovative approach, joint with the new discoveries made in the medical field, will definitely improve our lives through this vaccine design. Hopefully, the vaccine design against Influenza will be released soon, to protect us from this disease.

Vaccine design is a subject that has raised many concerns throughout the recent years, since specialists first started to talk about it. While there are many contradictory opinions about what does vaccine design really means, you should know that recently, a fascinating book has been released, that will teach you everything you want to know about vaccine design. It is called ‘Vaccine Design: Innovative Approaches and Novel Strategies’, and it is now available for everyone who wants to buy it.

‘Vaccine Design : Innovative Approaches and Novel Strategies’ has been published in November 2010, but it has only been released for the public in February 2011, by Caister Academic Press. The editors of ‘Vaccine Design : Innovative Approaches and Novel Strategies’ are Rino Rappuoli and Fabio Bagnoli, who conducted this research book in Siena, Italy. They are globally renown for their work in the vaccine and immunology field, so it comes as no surprise that they have decided to go further, and to approach the vaccine design topic as well.

‘Vaccine Design : Innovative Approaches and Novel Strategies’ includes an Introduction and 16 interesting chapters: Overview of Vaccine Strategies; Designing Vaccines in the Era of Genomics; New Analytical Approaches for Measuring Protective Capacity of Antibodies; New Frontiers in the Chemistry of Glycoconjugate Vaccines; Bacterial Protein Toxin Used in Vaccines; Adjuvants; Mucosal Vaccines; Intralymphatic Vaccination; The First Vaccine Obtained Through Reverse Vaccinology: The Serogroup B Meningococcus Vaccine; Vaccines for Neglected Diseases; Vaccines to Combat Pseudomonas aeruginosa Infections in Immunocompromised Patients; Nosocomial Infections: Staphylococcus aureus; Toward the Development of a Universal Vaccine Against Group B Streptococcus; Vaccines Against Streptococcus pneumoniae; Veterinary Vaccines with a Focus on Bovine Mastitis; and last, but not least, Vaccines against Newly Emerging Viral Diseases: The Example of SARS.

As you can see, ‘Vaccine Design : Innovative Approaches and Novel Strategies’ comprises numerous reviews about the cutting-edge research in vaccine design and in the development of this field. The first part of the book focuses on technologies and approaches used for new vaccines, and the second part is keen on the development of new vaccines which are meant to replace the current ones, or to complement them. If you want to find out more about vaccine design, you can easily purchase ‘Vaccine Design : Innovative Approaches and Novel Strategies’, the best book in the domain, which is available even online.
